I Would Buy Me An Ice Cream
I would buy me an ice cream, if I saw me on the street.
I would buy me an ice cream, honey cone, vanilla, neat.
I would offer a smile, and I would hand over my cone,
to give my other self some proof that they are not alone.
I would buy me an ice cream, with sprinkles and a cherry on top.
I would add maple syrup and a few cashews: chopped.
I would offer my friendship, to my other self who is eating,
the ice cream cone I gave him, and to the kindness his heart had been needing.
